Other FTP Client Configuration

This article will show you to connect to your hosting space using various other FTP Clients apart from FileZilla. For your convenience, we have also provided the download links for the respective FTP clients.

Cyberduck (4.2.1)

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open Cyberduck.
  • Click on Open/New Connection on the top left.
  • Select FTP-SSL (Explicit AUTH-TLS) at the drop down menu.
  • Enter the Server name as your host name given to you.
  • Enter your user name.
  • Enter the password.
  • Make sure Anonymous Login is unchecked.
  • Click Connect.
  • If a pop up saying the connection is not trusted click on Continue.
  • The directory listing would now appear.

 

 

 

WinSCP (5.1)

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open WinSCP
  • Under Session Select File Protocol as FTP
  • Set Encryption as TLS Explicit encryption
  • Enter the Host name
  • Enter your user name
  • Enter the password
  • Make sure Anonymous Login is unchecked.
  • Click Login.
  • There would be a Warning window which appears. Click on Yes.
  • The directory listing would now appear.

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open BitKinex.
  • Let connection be Direct Connection and not through Proxy Server.
  • Let transfer Rate be unlimited.
  • Setup a new data source by clicking on Data Source.
  • Select New -> FTP
  • Type the data source name as host name
  • Right click and click on properties.
  • Enter Server address as your host name.
  • Set Security as Explicit (AUTH TLS)
  • Enter your user name, password and click OK.
  • Now double click on the new data source.
  • If a SSL verification failed message comes up click on Yes.
  • The directory listing would now appear.

 

 

 

CuteFTP Pro (8)

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open CuteFTP
  • Click on File -> New -> FTP Site.
  • Under the General Tab write a Label.
  • Type in the host name in the host address space
  • Write your user name and password.
  • Select Normal under Login method.
  • Click on Type tab.
  • Select Protocol Type as FTP with TLS/SSL(AUTH TLS-Explicit)
  • Click on Connect.
  • Accept the Certificate.
  • The directory listing would now appear.

 

 

 

CrossFTP (1.81.4)

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Click on Sites found on the top menu bar.
  • Select Site Manager.
  • Select the folder Default and click New Site.
  • In the General tab select FTPS/TLS from the drop down menu.
  • Give a Label for your site
  • Enter your Host name.
  • Enter your user name and password.
  • Click on connect.
  • When Certificate Information window pops up click on Always.
  • The Directory listing would now appear.

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open WebDrive.
  • Click on New Site.
  • Select Connect by Server Type(SFTP,WebDAV,FTP) and click Next.
  • Select Server type as FTP from the dropdown menu.
  • Select Connect Securely.
  • Select Encryption method as TLS v1.0’AUTH TLS’ and click Next
  • Enter your domain name and click Next.
  • Let certificate be No Certificate and click Next.
  • Enter your user name and password.
  • Click Test Connection to check if the credentials you entered are right. Click Next.
  • Enter the name of the site and choose a drive letter. Click Next.
  • Click on both “Connect to Site now” and “Connect at login/startup” and click Finish.
  • If you are using the demo version a window will pop up, there click on Try it
  • The directory listing would now appear as a new explorer window.
  • You can re access the FTP of your website by clicking on the WebDrive in My Computer.

 

 

 

ClassicFTP

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open ClassicFTP
  • Click on File -> Connect -> New Site
  • Enter your host name on FTP Server.
  • Type your User Name and Password.
  • Select Use Secure FTP (Explicit SSL)
  • Click on Add Site.
  • The directory listing would now appear.

CoreFTP

The steps to connect are as follows:

  • Open CoreFTP
  • Click on File -> Connect
  • Enter a Site Name
  • Enter the Host name
  • Enter your Username
  • Enter Password
  • Click on Retry On
  • Change Connection from FTP to AUTH TLS
  • Click Connect
  • When a window saying Certificate information pops up click on “Always Accept”

The directory listing would now appear
